The failed night shot

Going on with my Interrail album. For this page I’ve used a photo that most people would have discarded because, as you can see, is very blurry. Well, it’s actually one of my favorite photos from this vacation, because of the story behind of course! At the time (July 2001) I was using an SLR camera (yes, no iPhone yet), but I knew nothing of photography and used only the automatic settings. One night we decided to take a self timer photo with the night shot setting, and although we understood that it would keep the shutter open for a longer time and therefore we had to keep very very still, it was impossible: we kept on laughing and moving and the three photo we took came out all blurry. But in the end we all liked them, because it looked as we made this effect on purpose, or at least we convinced ourselves that it was so!

Supplies: the background paper is from Crate Paper Craft Market and I colored some of the flowers and leaves with watercolors; the flower stamp is in the Dear Lizzy Serendipity stamp set and the other two stamps (far from perfect and time to relax) are from Studio Calico kits as are the hearts; there are some bits and pieces from Amy Tangerine and the two jars are from an older collection by My mind’s eye. I’ve put some flower sequins in one of the jars, it may become my newest obsession, we’ll see!
